Generation, transmission and distribution systems have been demerged to make the power sector a more accountable and service-oriented organization by reducing system losses and strengthening financial position. And  as part of the reform program, Ojopadico was formed as a power distribution company in November/2002 under the Public Limited Companies Act/1994 with the aim of reducing system losses in power generation, operation and distribution systems with the division of the power sector and strengthening the financial position. On October 1, 2003, the distribution of BEUBO, except for the geographical area of ​​the Western Region, Rural Electrification Board, 21 districts and 20 upazilas of Khulna, Barisal and Greater Faridpur Division, was handed over to Ojapadiko. On April 1, 2005, after signing the contract, Ojopadico independently started its own operation in the then distribution region of Bubo. On December 16, 2007, after the disbursement of Beaubo, all officers and employees working under the lien in the western region joined the employ of Ojopadico.
